The artist, Anna Marie Randolph works out of her old barn. The barn is the actual
studio. She paints original oil on canvas renditions of the Virgin Mary in
10”x10” size Mexican style complete with
internal frames. The frames
are painted with oil to give a universal consistency. These are the largest
series by the artist who depicts Mary across cultures.
Anna Marie was born in Normandy, (northern France). At the University she minored
in art history and primarily studied “Dutch Masters” Vermeer, Van
Eyck, Rembrandt van Rijn, to name a few. She later lived a year in Flanders and
earned an MA from the University of Nevada at Reno.
She paints classic Roman style busts which protect the home. These
are framed 16”x20” canvases which finally measure approximately 25”x26”.
Her nature scenes are 30”x40” which give the feeling of being outdoors.
These canvases also have modern painted oil frames and such paintings are intended
to take up a large wall or hang in a series.
Anna Marie is a local artist who has resided in Reno, Nevada since 1979.
